Small Works Engineer

Job Description

Tailored Fire & Security have two new exciting opportunities as a Small Works engineer to work with our prestigious client. You will be based predominantly in the south of England, however our client is based across EMEA therefore travel will be an essential part of your role.


We require an experienced Multi Disciplined Installation Engineer based in the south of England.

As a small works installation engineer you will be able to install CCTV, Access Control and intruder systems throughout Europe. You will be working mainly on smaller installs of 1-2 days and when required you will be working on the larger installations.


As an ideal candidate you will have an understanding of Lenel and picture perfect access control, AXIS Cameras.

You will need to be able to manage yourself whilst on site. Have a good understanding of Security Systems, good organisation and communication skills. Ability to work from steps and ladders, with an understanding of health and safety.

As an applicant for the role you will be a motivated and capable engineer who will go above and beyond to ensure a first time fix. You will have a good range of experience in different sectors and hands on experience with tools. You will be a keen to learn individual, keeping your self up to date with the changing industry and be willing to take on and understand new products and technology. You will be able to liaise with internal staff and clients at all levels of the business, build and maintain working relationships and be able to communicate effectively. You will be able to successfully install security systems in line with the company procedures and British Standards.

Job Description

Tailored Fire & Security have an exciting new opportunity to join the team as a southern based Small Works Manager.

You will be responsible for managing multiple small works projects concurrently and the small works team.

Duties will include but not limited to:

• Responsibility for the management of project delivery outputs, financial information, health & safety.
• Responsible for the day to day management of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring the successful delivery of the projects.
• To ensure that you are complaint with the companies procedures and in line with British Standards.
• To manage and schedule the small works team effectively, ensuring they all have clear objects to ensure delivery of project.
• To take ownership of the profitability of the project and have overall responsibility of the financial position.
• To be able to report, and work closely with the Ops Manager, giving updates on the projects.
• To prepare small works estimates and quotations and when required to help with the larger scale project quotations

IT Engineer

Job Description

Tailored Fire & Security have an exciting new role as an IT Engineer to join an expanding team.

We are looking to recruit a 2nd line IT Support Engineer into our team. This person will be responsible for delivering great service and satisfaction through the installation and on-going support of IP Security Systems, and Internal IT and telephone systems.

You will:
• have 2-3 years prior experience in a previous role;
• have a full UK driving license;
• be subject to a technical assessment to validate your knowledge and experience.

Essential duties include:
• Via our service desk, provide an initial point of contact to clients that require assistance and support for their Security Systems. Provide follow-up assistance at their offices as required;
• Proactive technical services and support of business critical IT systems at different levels, including: local and multi-site connectivity, routers, firewalls and security systems internally.
• Administration and response to alerts and notifications generated through our monitoring and maintenance systems;
• Install and configure Security and IT Systems, including: servers, networks, voice and connectivity;
• Liaise with third-party suppliers to arrange services for clients and deal with service affecting issues as required;
• Create and maintain customer documentation for their systems and infrastructure;
• Communicate with clients in person, by telephone or electronically as required to keep them informed of progress with their incidents and requests.

Whilst training will be provided as required, previous experience in a similar role is essential and you will be technically evaluated during the recruitment process.

Installation and Commissioning Fire Engineer

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Engineer to join the Installation team at Tailored Fire & Security.

As the successful candidate you will have knowledge with Gent Systems and will have experience of Installation and Commissioning of Fire Systems.

The Installation and Commissioning Engineer will be required to Install and Commission Fire systems as per the direction of the Project Manager. You will work closely with the projects team to ensure that the Installation is completed within the timeframe for handover to the client. You will also work with the team at the office, with regular communication. You will be able to manage yourself whilst on site, have a good understanding of Health & Safety and be able to install in line with the British Standards. You will have good organisation and communication skills.

The working hours will be from 8am-4.30PM with 30 minutes for lunch. You will be required to be on site between these times. Overtime will be required from you when needed.

As Tailored Fire & Security are a National company, you may be required to work outside of the North West, therefore travel is an essential part of the role.

Project Manager - London

Job Description

Due to the expansion of our Contracts department, Tailored Fire & Security are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team. Our head office is based in Chadderton, Oldham, however you will look after projects in the south. Our office is based in Chatham Kent.

You will be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently through all stages of a projects life cycle:

Duties will include but not limited to:

•Responsibility for the management of project delivery outputs, including programme, financial information, health & safety, environmental performance and progress for all allocated schemes.
•Responsible for the day to day management of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring the successful delivery of the projects.
•To ensure that you are complaint with the companies procedures and in line with British Standards.
•To manage the project team effectively, ensuring they all have clear objects to ensure delivery of project.
•To take ownership of the profitability of the project and have overall responsibility of the financial position.
•To be able to report, and work closely with the Branch Director, giving updates on the projects.
•To complete contract documentation.
•To prepare estimates and quotations.
•To be able to build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.
•Procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
•To ensure that all contract documentation is prepared in line with the client specifications and timeframes.

You will need to be able to manage yourself whilst on site. Have a good understanding of Security Systems, good organisation and communication skills. Ability to work from steps and ladders, with an understanding of health and safety.

Job Description

Tailored Fire & Security have expanded their contracts department, therefore we have an exciting new opportunity to join the team as a Fire & Security Sales Estimator.

As the ideal candidate, you will be expected to perform the below duties:
•To complete quotes for the sales department using information taken from the internal CASH system, sales team, including requests from clients by email and phone calls etc.
•The type of systems to be quoting would be: - Fire, Gas Suppression, Disable Refuge, Intruder, Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call/Staff Attack, Public Address and Emergency Lighting Systems etc.
•Provide quotes for new maintenance and contract renewals as and when instructed by the sales manager.
•Provide sales reports ready for monthly meetings.
•Attend sales meetings on a monthly basis and any other meetings as and when called for by the divisional director.
•Provide assistance with other departments (such as Sales) as and when instructed by the Group Sales Manager.
•Gain good knowledge of the CASH software system and help the sales manager implement changes (such as job costing) to help improve the operation of the department.
•Providing technical backup as and when instructed by the sales manager.
•Dealing with technical service calls when instructed by the sales manager
•Carrying out site surveys as and when required.

Job Description

Apprentice Fire Alarm / CCTV Service Engineers Required

Due to expansion of the company, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team as an Apprentice Security Engineer. You will be required to assist on the service/installation of Intruder/CCTV/Fire alarm systems.

This is an opportunity for a enthusiastic individual to develop a long term career with a reputable Fire & Security Company. Full training will be provided.

Our office is based in Oldham, however you will be required to cover the whole of the North.

Duties - Applicants will be given internal and external training to carry our surveys, routing maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation of security, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems.

Experience

Existing experience and/or a strong interest in fire, security, electronics or electrical engineering would be an essential requirement

Skills needed You will need to be able to manage yourself whilst on site. Good understanding of technology, good organisation and communication skills. Person specification

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and capable engineer. They will have a good range of experience in different sectors and hands on experience with tools. We are looking for an engineer who is keen to learn, have the ability to take on and understand new products and technology. They will be easy-going but hardworking, and need to be friendly and approachable when dealing with others. They should be quite independent, being comfortable working in a range of environments with minimal guidance. They will need to be flexible schedule-wise. They should set an example of excellent quality when installing security systems. Being in a position of responsibility and privilege, they will be trustworthy and honest in their conduct. A clean criminal record is essential, as all our engineers will be screened to BS7858 and DBS checked. A Full UK clean driving licence is essential.
