Fire Installation and Commissioning Engineer

Job Description

Overview

Tailored Fire & Security Leeds Limited have a new opportunity that has arisen for an experienced Fire Installation and Commissioning engineer to join the growing department. You will be working on large installation projects for the department, covering predominantly the North of England, however there will be a requirement to travel to London for cover when needed. As an ideal candidate you will have experience in Gent systems.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

As the ideal candidate, you will be able to install and commission Fire Systems. The role will be working on Large Installation Projects for the Contracts Department. You will be working closely with the project managers, ensuring that project deadlines are met. As you will be based on the client’s site, it is essential that you have excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all management levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and commission of Fire Systems in line with the company/client procedures and adhering to the British Standards.
• Working with the Project Manager and alongside the installation team to ensure that the project deadlines are met.
• Completing Risk Assessments for your own work and highlighting areas to the Project Manager.
• Providing progress reporting/pictures upon job completion or weekly for larger installations.
• Manage yourself whilst on site, with the ability to use steps and have a good understanding of Health and Safety.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the external client and sub-contractors.

What we require from the Install Engineer:

• Professional at all times with the ability to work with the external client.
• Willing to travel across the country and to stay away from home.
• Ability to install fire equipment to a high standard in line with the British Standards.
• Ability to manage yourself whilst on site.
• Working with the Project Managers, Branch Director and Admin Team at the office to deliver project deadlines.
• A full UK Clean Driving Licence
• All employees are screened to BS7858.

Overview

Tailored Fire & Security have an exclusive role that has become available as an Applications Manager to join the company working for one of our prestigious clients. The role is to support the Business as Usual Team and Projects team to ensure that deadlines and SLA’s are met accordingly. The role will be predominantly based from our client’s site in Canary Wharf, London. As our delivery of the contract is across EMEA, there will be opportunity to travel across other sites as and when required.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

As the applications manager, you will be supporting the BAU & Projects team in the delivery of deadlines in SLA’s. You will ideally have experience in the below systems:
• Picture Perfect / Lenel Certified (Access Control Platform)
• Networked Intruder Systems
• Trakka
• Nice Vision (CCTV Platform)
• Kaba

Key Responsibilities for the Applications Manager:

The role will be to support the client and internal BAU and Projects Team. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Programming changes relating to Access Systems/CCTV systems/Situator/KABA & DMP
• Programming of Traka Key Cabinet Systems.
• Raising various access requests for projects on the clients inhouse software platforms.
• Reacting to requests from the business on a daily basis and prioritising work based on the requests & other duties.
• Raising change requests for any programming changes and implementing when approved.
• Issuing reports to client & TFS from PP/Onguard/Situator.
• Supporting the BAU from a technical level.
• Complete all necessary training.
• Any other BAU/Project related duties that the technical or key account manager may decide that falls within the application managers role.

• Ability to organise and prioritise workload accordingly.
• Excellent communication skills both written and orally, with the ability to effectively communicate to all management levels.

Overview

Tailored Fire & Security have an exciting opportunity for an experience Project Manager to join the team covering the South of the UK. You will be predominantly based from our office based in Chatham Kent and will then be attending client’s sites.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently through all stages of a project’s lifestyle. You will be building and maintaining relationships with M&E Contractors, Sub-Contractors and internal staff. You will be reporting directly to the Branch Director. As the Branch Director is based in our Oldham Branch, you will be a strong and self-sufficient Project Manager who can work with little guidance and with a Proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management of project delivery outputs, including programme of works, financial information, health & safety, environmental performance and progress for all allocated schemes.
• Responsible for the day to day management of Multiple concurrent projects, ensuring the successful delivery of the projects.
• To ensure that you are compliant with the company’s procedures and in line with British Standards.
• To manage the project team effectively, ensuring they all have clear objects to ensure delivery of project.
• To take ownership of the profitability of the projects and have overall responsibility of the financial position.
• To be able to report and work closely with the Brach Director, giving updates on the projects.
• To complete contract documentation.
• To prepare estimates and quotations.
• To be able to build and maintain string relationships with contractors and suppliers.
• Procurement of plant, materials and specialist sub-contractors.

• ECS Card.

As a service and installation engineer you will be able to attend call outs and first fix within a set response time, be able to fault find, repair and install of Security, CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm Systems throughout the South of England. There will be a requirement for occasionally working away, therefore travel is an essential part of your role.

Experience is required in the following systems Hikvision, Paxton, Pac, Galaxy, Texecom systems.

You will need to be able to manage yourself whilst on site. Have a good understanding of Security Systems, good organisation and communication skills. Ability to work from steps and ladders, with an understanding of health and safety.

As an applicant for the role you will be a motivated and capable engineer who will go above and beyond to ensure a first time fix. You will have a good range of experience in different sectors and hands on experience with tools. You will be a keen to learn individual, keeping your self up to date with the changing industry and be willing to take on and understand new products and technology. You will be able to liaise with internal staff and clients at all levels of the business, build and maintain working relationships and be able to communicate effectively. You will be able to successfully install fire and security systems in line with the British Standards.
